Let me share a story…..
After the mother of Hazrat Ismail (علیہ السلام) passed away, Hazrat Ibrahim (علیہ السلام) came to visit his son’s house. Ismail was not home. His wife opened the door.
Hazrat Ibrahim (علیہ السلام) asked her, “Where is your husband?”
She replied, “He has gone to find some work.”
Then he asked her, “How is your life going?”
She said, “We are living in difficulty. We don’t have enough food. Life is very hard.”
Hazrat Ibrahim (علیہ السلام) listened quietly. Then he said one simple thing:
“When your husband comes back, give him my greetings and tell him to change the doorstep of his house.”
(Chokhat badal lo.)
He didn’t mean the real doorstep. He meant that she was not thankful. She didn’t value what she had. She was always complaining. A person who doesn’t show thanks loses blessings.
Why Being Thankful is Important
Dear team, this story is a big lesson for us.
Sometimes we only talk about problems. We forget the good things. We forget the people who helped us in our life.
The Prophet Muhammad (خاتم النبین صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم) said:
“The one who is not thankful to people is not thankful to Allah.”
We must thank not only Allah, but also the people who supported us.
Who Helped You in Life?
Think about your life. Who helped you?
Maybe your parents, your Mamu, Khala, Nani, Chacha, Taya, Phuppi, or a friend, teacher, or neighbor. Maybe someone from your mohalla helped you in a small or big way.
Even if they helped you move only one step forward—it matters.
Do This Today
Take a small notebook or paper. Write the names of people who helped you in your life.
If they are alive—call them or message them. Say thank you.
If they are not alive—pray for them.
This is how we keep shukr (gratitude) alive in our hearts.
Let’s Build a Thankful Life
Dear team, we are not alone. We all reached here with help from others.
So let’s not forget those people. Let’s say thank you and remember their kindness.
This is the way of Islam. This is the way of the Prophet (خاتم النبین صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم).
Be thankful. Be kind. And never forget those who helped you.
